Sorry, Chief... (Get Smart, #2) By William Johnston
Sorry, Chief... kindle direct
Would you believe this book is very silly but it is Get Smart so that goes without saying Enjoyed it than the first one Better at capturing the insanity of the show hopefully the trend continues in the later volumes Mass Market Paperback A short and somewhat entertaining read Really helps to be a fan of the TV show And like corny humor And not take it as than it is Mass Market Paperback This one starts sounding a lot like the Get Smart we all know and love Mass Market Paperback William Johnston s Get Smart novels are always hilarious and this one is no exception Unlike the TV show they don t attempt to be a direct parody of spy fiction but simply go for pure absurdity. Sorry, Chief... kindle books In this case Max 99 and Fang a dog secret agent are tasked with finding a scientist who is going to sell an invisibility serum to KAOS They track the guy aboard an ocean liner where the running gags begin to come at a fast and furious pace The plot involves six invisible guinea pigs a roomful of oatmeal a Captain who can t remember if port means left or right and a shoe phone with a perpetually bad connection and a nosy operator listening in I would say it all makes sense in context but it really doesn t Nor should it It simply needs to be funny In this it succeeds completely Mass Market Paperback I loved this old series on TV and this book is very funny too I m sorry to say this is the only one I have and the only one that I ve read Never knew there were others Mass Market Paperback
